Trail Infromation
Burney Falls is a must see if you are in Northern California. This is a 126 foot waterfall that spills 100 million gallons a day. Falls loop trail is an easy 1.3 mile trail that takes you down to the falls accross Burney Creek and up to the other side of the falls. This is a fun scenic trail.

This was the last leg of our three vacations in one trip. After visiting Crater Lake National Park, the Lava Beds National Monument, we stopped at Burney Falls. The plan was to just stop here for a few hours to enjoy the falls and do the short Fall Loop trail. If you lived in Stockton wouldnt you try to procrastinate going back as long as possible? Needless to say, we stayed in the campground that is right next to the falls. The campground was very nice. Brand new bathrooms, showers (that was nice because it had been a few days a this point in the trip), and very spread out campsites. Although the campground was huge and there was a lot of people there, it did not feel like we were crammed in there like it did at the lava beds and at the Mazama village in Crater lake.
After checking into our camp site we made a quick stop in Burney to get some food for dinner and breakfast. We found a little Mom and Pop grocery store and got the last pack of chicken (literally the last package- the shelves were bare). We found out the next day on our way out of town to head back home that there was a Safeway around the next corner.
When we got back we had dinner and set up camp. Then we took a hike down to the falls right after sun set. The falls looked like they were glowing as they reflected the light that was left. No one else was down there and we had the falls all to ourselves.
The next day we packed up and headed to Redding stopping for pizza (our end of trip tradition). I highly recommend going and seeing Burney Falls, you will be glad you did.
